Abstract

As a great Muslim thinker, Ghazali has profoundly influenced the scholars, specially Sunni scholars, who lived after him. While in his Tahâfatol Falâsefeh, Ghazali has sharply criticized philosophers, and while he does not hold Shi’ites in high respect because of his Asha’ri inclinations, it cannot be denied that Sadr al-Mota’allehin, the great Imamiyeh scholastic theologian and philosopher, has been influenced by the interpretive views of Ghazali. How and why Mula Sadra has been influenced by Ghazali? This is the question the present writer deals with in this article.
