Peer Review Process

Publication Process

  • Manuscript is submitted to the journal website (by the author). This includes: Filling in the information form, uploading the manuscript in the required format, submitting the Authorship Form and the Conflict of Interests Form.
  • Manuscript is screened by the journal’s Editor-in-Chief. The manuscript would be returned to the author for primary revisions, or rejected if it fails to meet the requirements.
  • Similarity check: the manuscript will be rejected in case of any un-/intended plagiarism.
  • Manuscript is assigned to two expert reviewers, specializing in the related field.
  • Manuscript is assessed by the reviewers, the assessment form is completed, and the Editor-in-Chief is informed of the quality and quantity of the manuscript.
  • Following the assessment, the reviewers’ comments will be discussed in the Editorial Board meeting. Four cases may arise in this case:

     a. If the manuscript is accepted by both reviewers and confirmed by the EB members, it will be accepted.

     b. If the manuscript is rejected by both reviewers, it does not go through any further steps and is returned to the author.

     c. If revision is requested by at least two reviewers, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision.

     d. If the reviewers fail to reach an agreement, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer for further assessment.

  • Upon assessment by the third reviewer, the manuscript will be sent to the author for further revision if needed.
  • Once the revision is completed, the manuscript will be sent to the final reviewer for assessment. Two cases may arise at this point:

      a. Manuscript is accepted in final review.

      b. Manuscript is rejected in final review.

  • Authors whose manuscripts are accepted should pay 6/000/000 IRR for copyediting and publishing charges. This fee should be transferred online via the journal website and to the university’s Research Office.
  • The exact date of publication for accepted articles depends on the number of confirmed articles and is around one year.
  • It should also be noted that the reviewing process is double-blind through all steps; that is, neither the authors nor the reviewers know each other.
  • On average, the screening process takes less than 10 days. Completing the final review, Informing the editorial board, and announcing the final results to the author will take around three to five months.
