Abstract

According to the new scientific theories, the three-dimensional space in which we live is a curved one, so that if an aircraft starts moving along a “straight” line, it will reach the start point again. Thus, in comparison with the surface of a sphere, which is a two-dimensional closed surface bending toward the third dimension, it could be said that our world is the shell of a four-dimensional sphere. In other words, our world is a three-dimensional world bending toward a fourth dimension.
Movement in the fourth dimension will have interesting results like leaving prison without going through the door, or passing through a sphere without tunneling it or going over it. This concept, it seems, has very close to certain Qur’anic concepts. In this article, the writer deals with such concepts like the Prophet’s ascension to Heaven, Sirât (the bridge over Hell leading to Paradise), the story of the queen of Shiba, the seven heavens, etc, looking at them from a new perspective.
